On 30th July the Kimbolton flock was one of three flocks asked to provide sheep for the British Texel Sheep Society stand.
The day was a great success with the trade stand winning second prize for the best pen of sheep, quite an achievement with the number of sheep at the event and even nicer to help celebrate Texel’s 50th anniversary year.
The event was a great opportunity to speak to both new and familiar faces, including a number of international visitors. It provided Paul with a invaluable opportunity to ensure that the Kimbolton flocks breeding goals remain aligned to what the industry needs.
Additionally it was useful meeting the Governments Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Christine Middlemiss and directly discuss the worrying situation the UK currently faces with Bluetongue.
All in all, it was an outstanding day showcasing the very best of the UK’s Sheep Industry and the Kimbolton flock was delighted to have been involved in helping represent the best attributes of Texel breed.
